Ernie was employed for the past 32 years at Standard Limestone Quarries. Ernie had many passions throughout his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hosting many of his famous barbeques, where the Ukrainian music was always playing in the background! He loved sports, especially hockey, beginning with his sons and carrying on to his grandsons. He was looking forward to watching his great-grandson play next winter. He followed the Winnipeg Jets for years, even taking in two games last season. He was a devoted fan of the Selkirk Steelers and rarely missed a game. He loved hunting, the Teulon Tractor Pull and showing of his car at numerous car shows.
He was a member of the Teulon and District Handivan and the Fabulous 50’s Club of MB.
We would like to thank the Doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital and special thanks to Dr. Weinberg and staff in the ICU at the Concordia Hospital, especially Bruce and Stacey, Thank you, Pastor Amos Fehr for your kind words, prayers and support, and just for being there for us. Also, thank you to the special lady who called 911, and to the paramedics. If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have been able to have four special days to say good-bye.
A funeral service will be held at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Center at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Teulon and District Handivan, Box 89, Teulon, MB., R0C 3B0.
