Obituary for Olga Helen Harasym (Schindle)
Peacefully on November 5, 2017 our Mom, Mother-in-law, Granny and Great Granny passed away at the Arborg and District Health Centre.
Mom was born in Camper, Manitoba, one of 11 children to Elsa and Michael Schindle. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg working and finishing her schooling. She met Dad in Arborg after he returned from Naval Service and they were married in June of 1950. Side by side they built their family business. Mom retired in 1993 and enjoyed working in her yard and gardens, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by Dad, William Harasym, in 1988. She is survived by her children Lee Sigvaldason (David), Lorne Harasym (Cindy), grandchildren Alaine, Arik, Melissa, Lorne Jr., Curtis, Laura Lee and 11 great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Arborg Assisted Living for the excellent care and compassion extended to Mom over the past three years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Arborg Hospital for their care during Mom's brief time there.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
