Obituary for Pauline Chrapchynski

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Pauline Chrapchynski. She passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the age of 84. Pauline was born in the Kelliher district of Saskatchewan but spent most of her life living in Teulon, Manitoba. Pauline was very involved in the church in Komarno and she loved making perogies and pyrizhky. She spent her spare time gardening, tending to her roses, listening to Ukrainian music, crocheting, and cross stitching. Pauline is predeceased by her parents, Mary & Peter Slywka; brothers Paul (infancy), Nick, John, Fred, & Walter; sisters Annie Pivovar, Olga Mandziak, Mary Klisowsky & Helen Kanciruk. She is survived by her children Maryanne (Wayne) Blahey, Anna Vesna, and Paul Slywka; her grandchildren Pamela Blahey, Stuart (Candace) Blahey, and Carla (Jason) Unrau; great grandchildren Jonathan, Ashton, & Elayna Blahey; Alec Chrapchynski; her sister Julie (Larry) Housch; her brother Peter (Alma) Slywka; sister-in-law Rose Slywka; as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or CancerCare MB. The funeral service will be held at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Marcie Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
