Obituary for Doris Ruth Grauman

Doris Ruth Grauman
Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Doris was predeceased by her parents and son Greg. She is survived by her Husband Alfred, Sister Rosie (Peter), Sons Roger (Diane), and Duane (Roberta), and Daughter Debbie (Steve). She also had six Grandchildren, Jason, Cheryl, Keith, Daniel, Pete, and Nula, and five Great Grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their care and compassion in her final years.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, she moved to the family farm near Balmoral to raise her family.
After high school she worked as switchboard operator for MTS. However, she moved onto work as an elevator operator for Hudson’s Bay. Where she joined the Christmas Choir. She was also a soprano soloist and choir member at the McDermot Ave Baptist Church.

She was married to Alfred Grauman on December 2, 1950. Living on the farm she raised four children and a large garden. The kitchen was always busy with baking bread and meals being cooked. But the fall brought on a new urgency to get all of the vegetables preserved at their peak.

A funeral service will be held on February 8th at 2 pm at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. All are welcome to a luncheon to be held at the Stonewall Legion after the service.
