Obituary for Donald Fraser Latta

Donald Fraser Latta
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Don Latta on July 6, 2017, at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall, MB, at the age of 91 Years.
Dad Leaves behind his three Children, seven Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren. As well as extended family. We will all miss him.
Dad was born on December 15, 1925 in Brandon, MB, spending his early years in Hayfield, MB and then moving to the Balmoral area, where he farmed for most of his life. He married Betty Arnason on April 24, 1954 and they raised their three children; Chris, Robyn, and Verne on the farm. He was very involved in the community and spent a great deal of time coaching hockey in Balmoral and Stonewall, as well as helping at community sports days. He was always willing to help friends or neighbours with car or snowmobile repairs. He enjoyed hunting and golf, as well as several trips throughout the USA and Canada, with friends and family. Dad also enjoyed music. He was an excellent singer and could be known to serenade staff and residents of Rosewood Lodge, where he spent the last year and a half, after retiring in Stonewall, 13 years ago.
A Celebration of Life will be held later.
A special Thank You to the staff of Rosewood Lodge, Dr. Graham and Stonewall Hospital for their kindness and care over the last few years.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson Canada, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2J 1P2 or www.parkinson.ca
