He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Luella, brother John, and granddaughter, April.
Ken was raised in Warren and was active in many local community sports, clubs and organizations for a large part of his life. He belonged to the Warren Army Cadets, was on the executive of the Warren Manitoba Pool, Warren Elementary School Board, Warren and District Lions, and Warren Arena. He coached hockey for 15 years and served as Secretary and President of the Warren Senior Men’s hockey team. In addition, Ken was an elder and steward of the Warren United Church and served as a councillor for the RM of Woodlands.
Ken farmed all his life until 1989, when he retired both from farming and driving the school bus. This allowed him the time to follow the many sports and activities of his grandchildren, which kept him on the road and busy for a number of years.
Ken’s family would like to thank HomeCare and the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their kindness, compassion and caring for the past few years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 2:00pm in Warren United Church, Warren, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
