Obituary for Wade Roy

Wade Roy

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wade Lyn Roy on July 17, 2021 at St Boniface Hospital. Wade was the beloved son of Wendy Klassen (Roy) and Derwayne Roy. He was predeceased by his father Derwayne (1983) and his grandparents Lorne and Muriel Inman.

Left to mourn his loss is his mother Wendy and stepfather Ed Klassen, brother Kent Roy and brother Evan Roy (Kari) and nephew Ethan. Wade also will be sadly missed by his special Uncle Ray Bruneau.

Wade was a humble man, not ever wanting to be the center of attention, but just wanting to be one of the guys. He always believed the scripture “If a man will not work, he shall not eat. " From a young boy he always had that twinkle in his eye that probably meant he was up to something. As he grew to be a man, he knew the joy of building and creating with wood. He had many jobs that only seasoned pros would do, yet he tackled every one of them and always with Excellence in mind. His family was very proud of him and how he used his gifts to build beautiful homes. In the past number of years, he's been a mentor to many younger builders and tradesmen, always helping them out, often at his own expense.

Wade was a true servant and often volunteered for organizations such as Samaritan's Purse and Union Gospel Mission and was looking forward to one day joining the Disaster Response Team of Samaritan's Purse. Wade's life was negatively affected by addiction, but through it all he stayed connected to the ones he loved, always working toward a better day. His better day came after much anguish on July 17 and as Romans 5:6 says "When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners". When Wade was utterly helpless, Jesus came at just the right time and took him home.

A private family burial will take place in the family plot in Stonewall on Monday July 26. If friends so wish, in lieu of flowers, please donate in Wade's name to Adult and Teen Challenge 260 Jean Marc Ave. Sunnyside, Manitoba R5R 0E6
