With deep sadness and heavy hearts, with Violet's Family by her side, we announce the passing of Violet Gegeny at the age of 75, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She leaves to mourn her children, John (Karen), Eva, grandchildren Russell, Ryan, brother Andy (Pat), sister Liz (Bob), brother-in-law Bill (Bonnie) and many nieces and nephews, friends and extended friends in Mexico, and former co-workers.

Mom was predeceased by her husband John (1976), common law husband Louis (1995), parents Sandor (1989) and Eszter (2012).

Mom was born in Hungary, July 28, 1944, immigrated to Canada in 1958 and made her home between Winnipeg, Teulon and Norris Lake also later added Mexico as a vacation spot she enjoyed traveling to every year.

Mom work for Lions Manor for 10 years, easily made friends with her compassionate and caring personality and always had a smile on her face for everyone.

After retirement she always looked forward every year to vacation in Mexico for a few months, and usually ready and packed a year in advance for the next trip to Mexico because she didn't want to forget anything, that's the type of person she was very organised. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, ballet in the park with her friends and going to rainbow stage.

Mom always had a zest for life, loved her family and extended family very much and always had a kiss and a hug for everyone even if it was the first time you met her. She enjoyed reminiscing and telling stories about family members, home and abroad in the 'old country' with her brother-in-law Bill, they had a special bond and had nicknames for each other and always greeted each other with a hug and a 'HI SHORTY' and 'HI KID', we all new who was shorty and who was the kid.

Mom was full of life, she will be sadly missed, always in our hearts, loved forever by her family and extended family, rest in peace mom.
