It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of dad and grandpa on April 15, 19 at the age of 93.
Stanley was born Jan 20, 1926 in Camper, MB. He is survived by his wife Shirl, his sister Hilda, and his loving family; daughter Brenda (Jim), and sons Glenn (Linda), Ben (Victoria), Lenard (Susan), Keith (Patricia), and Raymond (Jennifer). He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren Chelsea (Quinn), Jennifer (Kevin), Samantha (Dale), Antonia (Mike), Mihali (Sophie), Vasilis (Kaitie), Andrea (Justin), Cyrena, Nicole (Ryan), Ashley (Christopher), Mallory (Tiffinie), Mason (Mackenzie), Marcus, and 9 great-grandchildren. Stanley is predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Stan and Shirl moved to Argyle from Ashern in 1999 and adopted the community as their retirement home for the past 19 years. Dad was talented in many trades and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He had an amazing green thumb and his gardens always flourished. He loved spending time outdoors, going for coffee at Ben’s store, or taking a ride to Winnipeg to help pick up store supplies.
Dad loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but most of all he cherished his best friend and wife for the last 65 years, Shirl.
A special thanks to Steve Garland for all of his help and friendship over the years, the community of Argyle, and a heartfelt thank-you to the doctors and nurses of the Stonewall & District Health Centre for comforting dad in his final days.
Cremation has taken place, with a private Celebration of Life for the family to follow.
