Richard Elmer Foster
1942 – 2022
Peacefully, on October 25th, 2022, Richard Foster passed away at the age of 80, at the Arborg and District Health Center.
He will be forever missed by his son Curtis; daughter-in-law Sandra; and granddaughter Kataleya. His brother Harold (Alda), Ken (Linda), Albert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Addie; father Bud; and sisters-in-law Trudy and Elaine.
Richard was born in 1942 in Framnes. He spent his childhood on the farm and attended Vestri School until grade 8. After school he worked at various farms in the area before he went to work for Parish Farms in Parkdale. Richard spent several years trucking before joining York Tire in Transcona.
In 1985 Richard left Winnipeg to partner with his brother Albert in Foster Tire in Arborg. During this time Richard cultivated relationships with farmers all throughout the area. Richard retired onto the farm in the early 2000's where he lived until 2021 when he moved into town.
Richard was known for his hardworking spirit, generosity, and friendly demeanor.
The family would like to thank Dr Donnelly and the staff at the Arborg and District Health Center for the care he received.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, November 3 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ardal -Geysir Lutheran Church.
