Mike Potoski
March 2,1933 - February 11,2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mike is survived by his brothers Victor, Sam, and sisters Josie Isfjord & Eva Luksic. His daughters Beverly, Sharon, Corinne, stepchildren Corinna and Gator, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Bernie Potoski, stepdaughter Charlene Scott, stepson Jimmy Scott, his parents Andrew & Anna, brothers Billy, Peter, Harry, Steve, sisters Rosie Furgala, Dora Kuslak, Jeannie Isfjord, Mary Leschyshyn, Catherine Bergman, Pearl Parada, Nellie Bartecki.
He was born in Hnausa at his parents’ homestead. He attended Finns school. Mike went fishing with his father at Montreal Point. He also cooked on various boats on Lake Winnipeg. He was employed with Susann E, Drake Pearson, Rapids Kenerd, Teddy towing barges. He Attended school in Prince Edward Island to become a Marine Captain, he worked for Northland Freight for 18 years. He was also captain of the Playgreen and Northland. Than he moved to Selkirk and worked on the River Rouge cruising the Red River, Mikitawa and the Gold field until his retirement in 1994. He spent 35 years on the lake after retirement he purchased his own Taxi, and was self-employed for 8 years.
He has three daughters Beverly, Sharon, Corinne with Ruby Rundle.
He later married Bernice in 1989, residing in Riverton. He sold his home in Riverton and moved into the Riverton Icelandic Lodge where he resided until his passing. He loved his second-floor apartment view where he could look at the Icelandic River daily with his binoculars. He had many friends at the Riverton Lodge. He enjoyed his many driving trips to visit friends & family. He could be found at the dock enjoying the sport of fishing and cruising the town of Riverton on a daily basis, nodding his head to many he seen.
He looked forward to the many family functions and get togetherness.
He enjoyed his daily visits from his daughter Bev, granddaughter April, great daughter Parker, who will miss him dearly.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
