Obituary for Marion Gertrude Murray

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Gertrude Murray at the age of 99.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Elsie Murray; grandchildren Tracy (Kevin) Ross, Travis Murray; great grandchildren Kira Ross (Mitch), Morgan (Blaine) Ross-Bullied; and great-great-grandchild Jacklyn Mai Bullied; and many other caring relatives and friends. Marion was predeceased by her husband Douglas; son Graham; and three sisters, Jean Cunnington, Isabel Price and Marj Renwick.

Marion was born and raised in Warren, MB. She was instrumental in bringing children from east of Warren to Sunday School at a time when there was 121 children attending. She taught Sunday School
when it was held in Mrs. Everett’s veranda. During that time she met her husband Douglas and they were married March 21, 1942. They purchased a small farm and resided in Warren until Doug’s passing in 1992. Marion moved to Lions Manor in 1996, spending 25 years of her life there. She always talked about “it was the best thing she ever did”. She loved playing cards and was good at it. She enjoyed playing bingo and taking in all the extra-curricular activities that were provided. She was a member of the Stonewall Legion, participating in many crib tournaments, and never missed a Remembrance Day supper honouring our Veterans held
in November every year.

The family would like to thank all the homecare workers in Lions that assisted Marion over the
years and to the staff at the Stonewall Hospital for their kindness in Marion’s final days.

In keeping with Gramma’s wishes, a private family service will take place.

Heaven has gained another beautiful soul. She lived a long and healthy life. Although we are
sad, we find peace knowing she is no longer in pain. Know that you were loved and will be sadly
missed.
