Obituary for Margaret (Margie) Wilhelmina Finnson

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Finnson at the age of 84 years old at the Arborg PCH on October 19, 2019 of Arborg, MB.

Margaret is survived by her sister Mary Horvath, brother Martin Horvath (Josie), niece Cathy Jonasson, great niece Aleah, nephew Douglas Lamont (Naoko), great nephew Tem, nephew Glen Helgason and many extended Family and Friends. Marge grew up in Hnausa and attended Geysir School. She lived and worked on the family farm until her marriage to Arthur Finnson on February 14, 1970 and then resided in Vidir, MB.

Marge was an active member in her Community with the Ladies Aid and the Arborg Hospital Auxiliary as Secretary/Treasurer. She worked outside the home in her later years, at her Brother Louis hotel at the Riverton Motor Inn and Chicken Chef in Arborg. After her husband's passing in 1984, she moved to Arborg.

Marge had a fun-loving spirit and had a great sense of humour. She was well known for her love of gardening, flowers and vegetables alike. The family always looked forward to her canned vegetable and homemade salsa sauce. Her niece Aleah would ONLY drink her Aunty Marge's homemade apple juice. She loved to cook and bake, and coffee was always on! She enjoyed her music and attending dances in her younger years.

She was never one to turn down a good polka! She was blessed with many close and cherished friends and took the time to travel across North America and to Hawaii with them. She spent endless hours playing cards and scrabbling with her sisters. Family was everything to Marge and she found happiness in times spent at frequent family gatherings. Marge touched the hearts of all who knew her.

The Family is extremely grateful and appreciative of the staff at Arborg PCH and Dr. Donnelly for the exceptional and compassionate care. You all go above and beyond the call of duty. Thank You.

As per Margaret's request there will be no formal Funeral Service. An Internment will be held in July 2020 at the Geysir Cemetery. Notice to follow at a later date.
