Obituary for Kristine "Stina" Gislason
KRISTINE GISLASON (KRISTINNSON)
November 27,1921-November 30, 2022
Peacefully on November 30, 2022 at the Arborg Personal Care Home, Kristine (Stina) passed away at the age of 101 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alfred (Joy), Elma (Ron), Birdeen (Lawrence), Miles (Donna); grandchildren Nadine (Wes), Bryan (Lisa), Janice (Richard), David (Karen), Ian (Cindy), Lyle (Lisa), Shawn (Jenna), Lauren (Steve), Brent (Kerri) and Alyssa; also 17 Great Grandchildren.
Also survived by her sister Beatrice and sister-in-law Vera. Predeceased by her husband Njall, parents, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and son-in-law Steve.
Stina was born and raised in Geysir, MB. On April 3, 1948, she married Njall and they raised their 4 children in the family home in Framnes. Family was very important to her. She loved to bake vinartertas, ponnukokur, cookies and cakes and have her family come for coffee get togethers. She knit and crocheted many items for her family. Mittens galore were given at Christmas with a gift of money tucked inside. She kept her mind active with these activities and loved her search word puzzles as well as watching her soap and Coronation Street.
The family would like to thank the Arborg Personal Care Home Staff for the wonderful care and respect she was given. We would also like to thank Arborg Assisted Living for the wonderful care she received there.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Ardal Geysir Church, Arborg on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home or Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church.
