Obituary for John Berry

Peacefully on August 2, 2020 John passed away at Rosewood Lodge. He was born July 4, 1934 in Grassmere, Manitoba, the son of William and Edna Berry,
John lived on the family farm in Grassmere and when he retired from farming moved to the Stonewall Lions Manor and then to Rosewood Lodge. He farmed independently and had a pig farm for many years. In his spare time John was involved in golfing, curling, a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, an avid gardener and enjoyed his morning coffee club with the boys. Travelling was another interest John had. He travelled to many places such as Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Churchill, across Canada and the United States.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy White, and Evelyn Durant. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends. John never married but he made his family with his sisters, nieces, and nephews. He loved to visit and hear about how everyone was doing and what they were up to. If you wanted to know a piece of family history, he was the person to go to, he knew it all.
A private graveside service will be held at Grassmere Cemetery.
Always a farmer, now forever in the field!
