Obituary for Jacqueline "Jackie" Bonkowski
JACQUELINE (JACKIE) BONKOWSKI
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Bonkowski, née Broeska, at the Arborg Health Centre on Friday, March 3, 2023.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Pat (Joe) Scott, Kathy Lanthier, Judy (Randy) Buchko and Lorie (Arthur) Rey; her sisters-in-law, Mary (Bonkowski) Hrycak and Rozann (Ken) Broeska; many nieces and nephews, special friend Jan Larkin, her coffee friends and her Legion friends.
Jackie was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter (2011); her parents Adella (née Remillard) and Jacob Broeska; her sisters, Ruth Mrochuk, Joan Spencer, Rita Dandurand; her brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Broeska; her sisters-in-law, Eva and Anna Bonkowski, Edna Broeska; parents in law Peter and Annastasia Bonkowski; brothers-in-law, Stan Mrochuk, Harry Spencer, Wally Dandurand, Larry Lanthier and George Hrycak.
Peter and Jackie loved fishing, gardening, garage sales and spending time at Catherine Lake with friends, Lisa and (the late) Ron White. Jackie was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humour always ready to share jokes and was a master at delivering them. She was a great cook and loved playing cards, more so if she was winning. The Arborg Legion was a favourite haunt, the featured dinners and meat draws were always a hit, but it was the time with friends she cherished most. She loved playing the VLT’S, South Beach casino was also a highly anticipated destination. Jackie touched the hearts of many during her life and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit and hilarious one liners!
Family and friends would like to thank Dr. Nazim and the staff of the Arborg Health Centre for the compassionate care given to Jackie.
As per Jackie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
