Obituary for Jacob (Jack) Thiessen

It is with deep sadness that the family announces our dad, formerly from Rosenheim SD, in southern Manitoba and of Stony Mountain, MB, passed away on March 10, 2020 at the age of 87.

Dad was predeceased by his wife Jean, his parents Cornelius and Agatha, his brother Harry and John, his sister Susan, his sister-in-law Gertrude, his brother-in-law Joe Ryplanski, his son Chester and his grandsons, Cornelius and Travis.

He will be sadly missed by his children Jack (Donalda), April (Ian), Robert (Lucille), Cornelius (Alison), Gale (Ian); step-children Lynn Restau (Eddie) and Carl Scibak; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brothers Edward (Pat), Cornelius (Janice), sisters Agatha, Ann (Helmuth) Renz, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dad enjoyed many years working throughout the communities of Northern Manitoba with Northern Affairs and Frontier School Division developing many life-long friendships. After his stroke in 1988, he relocated to Stony Mountain where he remained active with the community working with the Stonewall Chapter of the Manitoba Stroke Association and helping others. Dad always possessed an inner strength and positive attitude accepting his life style change. His family meant a lot to him and it was very important for him to always contribute and keep in close contact with all his family and friends.
