Obituary for Grant Stephen Beally

GRANT STEPHEN BEALLY
May 11, 1953 – May 9, 2022

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Grant, 2 days shy of his 69th birthday with his wife Sandy holding his hand.

He was predeceased by his Mom and Dad, Edna and Harry, and many other loved ones.
Grant is survived by his loving wife Sandy, brothers, Lorne (Duff), Bruce, Paul (Wendy), niece Nicole (Tony), nephew Steve (Jessi), great niece and nephew Sienna and Giovanni, sister-in-law Leslie and father-in-law Andy (Keitha).

Grant was a surveyor for Water Control and Structures at Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation and retired in 2014. He received the M.I.T. award of excellence in 2011 for all of Manitoba in recognition of his outstanding contributions. He had a great work ethic, determination, and dedication throughout his career.

Grant loved his family and friends. He was loyal, fair, and a great mentor. It was a rare occasion to hear Grant say anything bad about anyone, giving all a fair shake. His home was his castle and he loved going to the family cabin and camping. Once Grant was in his fishing boat, he was the happiest man alive. Surrounded by nature he would comment, “This is where man is meant to be!” He enjoyed good food, travel, music, animals, movies, and new adventures. Grant scuba dived in the Caribbean, travelled many countries and loved to cook Chinese and Thai food. Another great joy of his was being an extra in the TV series the Pinkertons. Grant lived his life humbly and with integrity.

Thank you to Rosewood Lodge and Dr. Graham for your compassion, caring and for making Grant comfortable during his 4 year stay. Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, one may donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

“You will be so missed Grant, I will love you forever and after forever”… Sandy
