She will be missed by her grandchildren Geraldine (Jason), Brian, Geni, Michael (Jana), Bonnie, Michelyn (Steve), Christian (Robyn), Kyla (Kevin), Colleen, Denise (Jesse), Evan (Lauren), and Braeden (Jasmin). She was blessed with 15 great grandchildren: Lindsay, Michael, Shaunnessey, Matthew, Reese, Sara, Samantha, Elle, Payne, Mattea, Maryn, Mia, Lincoln, Felix and Malcolm as well as two great great grandsons, Miles and Ethan. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Gwen Griffin and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Thomson in 1987, and her daughters Patricia in 1987 and Nona in 2001 as well as her 7 siblings and numerous sisters and brothers in law.

Eileen was born on April 9th, 1918, in County Leitrim in Ireland. She was educated in Ireland and went to England to study nursing at St. Lawrence’s Hospital. There she met and married a Canadian soldier Tommy Jones on June 2nd, 1943, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Caterham Surrey County in England.
Mom came to Canada in August 1946 and settled into a life of farming with Dad in Warren where they raised their three daughters and two sons. She enjoyed farm life especially raising the newborn calves and she named each one of them. Mom also loved vegetable and flower gardening and baking. Mom was a proud member of the Irish War Brides Society, the Royal Canadian Legion and a founding member of the Church of Annunciation in Woodlands and was active in liturgy and catechism. She loved music especially when she had the opportunity to dance and do the Irish jig.

Through all her trials and tribulations, her greatest joy in life was her family throughout four generations. Mom had enduring faith in God and always reminded us that she was praying for us all during our ups and downs. We are all truly blessed to have had her in our lives as long as we did.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fisher Branch Personal Care Home for their loving care and kindness during her stay there the past year and a half.

Private Mass will be held at the Church of the Annunciation in Woodlands for immediate family.
If friends or family so desire, donations may be made to the Church of Annunciation Woodlands, MB or to a charity of your choice.
