Obituary for Edward Petrachek
EDWARD PETRACHEK
July 8, 1948 – January 26, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather (Papa), Brother and Friend.
He leaves to mourn his wife Diane of 48 years, son Anthony (Jen), daughter Alisa (Sean), and grandchildren; brothers David (Anne), Ray (Deb), Rick (Marianne); brother’s in law Alex (Joan), Gerald (Dianne); sister’s in law Sharon and Colleen; with many nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Polly and Steve Petrachek, in law’s Alex and Winnie Fotty, brother’s in law Ross Smith and Pierre Vanasse.
Ed took early retirement in 2008 and shifted focus from a flooring installer to enjoying his yard, gardening, cooking, listening to Ukrainian music and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family.
We wish to thank the Paramedics and Stonewall Hospital for their care and compassion on these last two days for Ed, as he is now free of pain.
Cremation has taken place, and as per Ed’s wishes, we will celebrate Ed’s life privately in Shorncliffe, where Ed was born and raised in his early years.
