EDITH MARY TULLY (NEE GOBELLE)

It is with great sadness, that the family of Edith Tully, announce her peaceful passing on June 2nd,2022 at the age of 99, after a lengthy stay at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall, Manitoba.

Edith was born and raised in the Belcourt District, just a few miles from Poplar Point, Manitoba, but upon her marriage to Les Tully, moved to the farm North of Marquette, where she resided until her early 90’s.

Edith was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Les and one granddaughter, Brenda-Lea. She was also predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Catherine Gobelle, her sisters Dorothy (Dora), Margaret (Mag), Emily and Alma, as well as brothers George and Ron.

Surviving to mourn her loss are her sons, Doug (Irene) of Marquette, Larry (Betty Lou) of Penticton, BC, Keith (Cathy) of Calgary, AB, and Howard (Wanda) of Marquette. Edith is also survived by one sister, Lillian Clark; brother-in-law, Ken Tully, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 precious great-great grandchildren.

Edith was a loving wife and mother, who took great pride in her rural life. She spent endless hours tending flower beds and gardens, culminating in a feature article in Farm, Light, and Power magazine. She was an avid curler as evidenced by having competed in the Manitoba Senior Ladies Playdowns in 1969. Her other joys in life were her family, but she also found time for ACW (Anglican Church Women) and many evening hours with her knitting needles.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

A special thank-you goes out to the staff and caregivers at Rosewood Lodge for their attention and empathy and continuous care they have given to Edith, as her health deteriorated.
