Obituary for Daniel Stefan Einarson

Daniel Stefan Einarson
August 28, 1964 – October 3, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Stefan Einarson, at home in Hnausa, at the age of 58 years.

Danny is survived by Tammy, his loving wife of 32 years, and their beloved children Tanner and Halley (Drew), sisters Shirlee (Kris Anderson), Dolores (Danny Zinter), Tanis Carter, Cindy, and brother David (Joanne), in-laws Serena Bjornson (Marc) and Jeff Bjornson (Liz), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He also leaves to mourn aunts Joey Pickering and Alice Bjornson, uncle Allan (Gloria) Sigurdson, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Danny was pre-deceased by his parents Stefan and Steinunn Einarson, parents -in-law Stefan and Dolores Bjornson, brother in-law Kevin Carter and sister in-law Carol Einarson.

Danny grew up a proud Hnausa boy and reflected on memories of growing up with great fondness. His favourite memories included running to Stefan’s Store with his siblings, and swimming in the lake with friends, neighbours, and cousins who came to visit. Danny made many great friends growing up in Riverton. Danny was in many wedding parties over the years, where he was known for his poetic flare while delivering speeches.

He met the love of his life at a Hnausa Dance in 1985, and the rest is history. Together they fled to Winnipeg to further their education in 1987. They got married in 1990. Danny completed his Piping Trades ticket at Red River in 1993. Following the passing of his dad in 1998, Danny, Tammy, and their growing family took over the family plumbing business back in Hnausa.

Danny was an avid reader as the kids grew up, always taking on the role of storyteller and official recorder of home-reading assignments. Danny was incredibly proud of his children and how motivated they were to pursue post-secondary education and fulfilling careers. Danny’s favourite times were spent with his family, having fires in the backyard, playing horseshoes and dice, cranking tunes in the garage, cutting the grass, and gardening.

Danny won his first Harley in 2011, and that propelled him into his next favourite pastime, riding a motorcycle. Danny loved the open road, riding with friends and blasting his stereo while cruising down the highway. Danny’s friends were like brothers, and he was always there to lend an ear, engage in a good conversation, or share a beer. Many of them considered Danny to be the best of friends. He was a conversationalist like no other and could recall the greatest and funniest stories from the past.

While Danny was plumbing, he often found that once he had finished a job, he spent more time having coffee than he spent working on the job. Danny was often a confidante, and he considered his customers more like friends than clients.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton Hall. A luncheon will follow the service in the hall, with an interment of ashes following lunch, at the Hnausa Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Danny to the Hnausa Cemetery Committee or the Riverton Elks.
