Obituary for Anthony Thomas "Tony" Yurchi

Anthony (Tony) Thomas Yurchi
May 18, 1955 - October 15, 2022

With deep sadness, we announce Tony's sudden passing. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and, Emily Yurchi. He leaves behind his sisters, Margaret and Shirley, brother David, and other close and extended family. Then there are the many friends that he made over the years who will deeply miss him and cherish their memories of him. He also leaves behind his faithful companion Sporty.

Tony was born and went to school in Gimli, Manitoba. He worked at Seagram's (Diageo) Distillery for many years until his retirement. For a brief stint, he also tried his hand at long haul trucking.

In his earlier years, Tony enjoyed going out hunting, especially for moose. He was actively involved in competition shooting and excelled at it. He took up Cowboy Action Competitions, and enjoyed the camaraderie with the friends that he made during these events. Later, he gave up hunting and instead enjoyed watching the deer on his property and nature at its finest.

Tony was a hard-working man with a heart of gold. He was very particular about things; he had a place for everything and everything in its place. He was a sincere and genuine person, and he will be missed.

A service will be held at a later date with an announcement at that time. Tributes can be left online at the MacKenzie Funeral Home's web site: mackenziefh.com. If one wishes, a donation can be made in Tony's memory to a charity of your choice.
