Obituary for Abe Unruh

Abram (Abe) Unruh

November 13th, 1931 – September 10th, 2022

On September 10th, peacefully at the Teulon General Hospital, our dear brother and uncle Abe Unruh passed away.

Abe was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Abe Unruh, his sisters, Mary Kessler, Helen Kessler, Ann Delbridge, Katherine Dyck, Susan Dyck and his brothers John and Cornelius Unruh. Left to mourn Abe are his sisters, Margaret Jansen, Sarah Johannsen, Eva MacMillan (Harvey), and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Abe was born on November 13th, 1931, at Mayfair, Saskatchewan. In August of 1947, the Unruh family, with their 11 children made the move to Clarkleigh, Manitoba, where the family built a home and established a farm. In 1979, Abe and his brother, Cornie moved to Marquette where they built their home and started their carpentry business. Abe and Cornie worked together on many different jobs in the area and were often proud to point out the properties that they had worked on. His family cherishes the many pieces of furniture that he and Cornie built over the years.

Abe loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting and fishing with his nieces and nephews. The days spent fishing always ended around a campfire, playing a round of cards and sharing stories. These memories will be cherished by his family.

A service will take place at the Meadow Lea Cemetery on Saturday, September 17th at 2:00. His family asks that those who attend please bring a chair.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Abe’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all those that have been involved in his care over the years.
